You’ll find 3/2 and 4/3 options from all the leading brands, including Ripcurl, Quicksilver, Billabong, Hurley, Vissla, O’Neill and more. Shopping with us, you’ll have access to their manufacturers’ guarantees, as well as our expert advice on choosing the perfect men’s wetsuit for your needs.

A guide to men’s steamer wetsuits entries

While most of us already know whether we need to shop for a 3/2 or 4/3 wetsuit steamer, we might not be that clear on the different entry systems — but they can make a big difference to your surf. The choice between the different wetsuit entry types can be a tough one, so let us help you out:

  • Back zip (BZ) — This is the easiest type of wetsuit steamer to fasten, but compared to other options, it tends to be less insulated and more constricting when paddling. This is because the zipper is the only part of a wetsuit that doesn’t stretch and isn’t sealed.
  • Chest zip (CZ) — This wetsuit steamer sits between the other two styles for ease of entry and warmth. It also offers more flexibility than the back zip option.
  • Zipless/Zip Free/No Zip (ZF) — The warmest wetsuit steamer, it is also the hardest to squeeze into, though advancements in fabric technology have made
  • it somewhat easier in recent years. While some think the extra warmth and mobility are well worth it, others just can’t put up with the hassle.
