FEATURES
The G Skate is built to inspire you with the signature Gudauskas brother energy
Fast, skatey and responsive swallow-tailed hybrid design was born of a collaboration between Britt Merrick and the three Gudauskas brothers—Dane, Pat & Tanner.
Created for a fresh feeling that turned well in good surf but skated with ease through the not-so-good stuff
The goal was to create something fresh feeling that turned well in good surf but skated with ease through the not-so-good stuff.
Achieved this by shortening their typical shortboard rail line by 5” and adding curves and contours in key places that would keep them on top of the water and not hinder their turns in any way
2 + 1 (twin plus trailer) fin set-up
Light single to double concave
Low entry rocker
Contemporary shortboard rails
Ride this board 3” to 6” shorter and the same thickness as your CI Pro

RECOMMENDED FINS

Merrick / Gudauskas 2 + 1 fin set for the G Skate, also the AMT (2 + 1) fin set up also works very well
Thruster set will also work well in this design

CONSTRUCTION: PU Construction
PU surfboards are constructed from polyurethane blanks and use traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce strong, and reliable boards with high quality finishes. Polyester boards are CNC milled from shapers files and laminated by hand, using quality fiberglass which is known for its strength to weight ratio, resin and foam. Polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing for years now, featuring progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer, and feel reliable under the feet. Polyester construction performs well in all surf conditions and be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models and lengths.

ABOUT THE BRAND
Channel Islands Surfboards was created by Al and Terry Merrick in 1969. From his birth, Britt spent his days in the factory by the beach in Santa Barbara, from toddling around blanks to sweeping out shaping rooms. Eventually he started shaping alongside his father Al in 1990. He is now the lead shaper and designer for CI and carries on the family tradition of developing high performance board designs collaborating with the world’s greatest surfers. From Tom Curren, to Dane Reynolds, Channel Islands continues to evolve with the highest standard of surfing.
