Surfboard by Firewire
• Performance midlength
• Maximum performance without losing glide and paddle speed
• 5 Fin

This board manifested itself into existence as a blindingly obvious
next step for the SBoss. After riding the SBoss for about 18 months I
realized how perfectly all the same outstanding design features of the
SBoss would translate into a performance midlength.
The dna of a midlength that fits into the Slater Design world would
need to stand out in its look and be outstanding in its performance,
paddling and diversity. Once again the rocker plays a key role in this
shape and the experience I’ve had with performance LBs like the
TJ Pro and V helped me tune the rocker that best fits the need for
maximum performance without losing glide and paddle speed.
The board comes as a five fin but I ride it almost exclusively as a
quad… the fin placement on the BossUp is adjusted so I can ride the
same quads I ride in all my boards including the SBoss.

Ibolic Technology

Patent Pending technology build into the core blank construction create preloaded structural flex together with structure strength and durability. Fiber reinforced I-Beam down center with Parabolic Rail Springers from nose to tail. Three independent points for flex control and break resistance. I-Beam ensures firmness underfoot and unparalleled break strength. Two Parabolic Rail Springers enable flex and recoil during turns I-BOLIC Technology is an engineering feat that builds performance into the core of your surfboard - no external carbon layups or heavy laminations needed. A leap forward in surfboard manufacturing with an interplay of our favorite elements of LFT and Helium combined, elevated and enhanced to put The Future Under Your Feet.

Speed | Control | Strength | Response

I-Bolic Technology

Kelly Slater's favorite technology to ride, offering speed, control, strength and response.

Firewire's I-Bolic technology is a 1.5 lb EPS foam core with a 18mm high density foam stringer in the core, 16mm high density foam parabolic rails to control flex, and a 5mm high density foam springer on the bottom. Paired with our standard fiberglass lamination, on the deck it has a 3mm high density composite deck skin on the deck sandwiched between the double 4 oz E fiberglass cloth layers, and also has double 4 oz E fiberglass capping the bottom.

The I-beam ensures firmness underfoot and unparalleled break strength, while the high density foam parabolic rails enable flex and recoil through turns.
