Why Choose Our Twin Fin Sets
I'll be straight with you: twins aren't an everyday fin. They don't hold well in steep, powerful surf and if you try to bash a big close-out on them you'll know about it. But on a fun, rippable wave?Β
Nothing touches them for that loose, drawn-out, skatey feeling.
The big choice is keel versus upright. Keels are wide-based and swept back, made for retro fish and long arcing turns. Upright twins are taller with less rake, better for tighter and more vertical surfing on modern twin shapes. We'd say the board usually makes the decision for you.Β
Twin fins also run bigger than thruster fronts to compensate for the missing centre fin, so don't try to size them the same way. FCS II, Futures, Captain Fin Co and True Ames all make great options and we stock a solid range across all systems.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Twin Fins
What is a twin fin setup?
Two fins, no centre fin. Looser, faster and skatier than a thruster, with longer drawn-out turns and more freedom through the tail.
What's the difference between a twin fin and a thruster?
A thruster gives balanced drive, hold and pivot across most conditions. Twins give you more speed and looseness but less hold in steep or powerful surf. Different tools for different days.
Keel fins vs upright twin fins⦠which should I choose?
Keels for retro fish and flowing, drawn-out carves. Upright twins for modern shapes and tighter, more vertical turns. If you're not sure, tell us what board you're riding and we'll sort you out.
What size twin fins do I need?
Bigger than you'd think. Twins run larger than thruster fronts to make up for the missing centre fin drive. Most brands have a size guide by weight or just ask us.
Are twin fins good for beginners?
They're fun but a bit unpredictable. We'd suggest getting comfortable on a thruster first, then making the switch. The loose tail is a different feeling and it takes a session or two to click.
