Why Choose Our Thruster Fin Sets
The thruster works everywhere. Two side fins and one centre rear fin, equal in size and balanced in feel. Drive out of turns, hold on the rail, predictable pivot. It's the setup you'd grab for any condition without overthinking it.
But sizing matters more than most people realise. Too small and the board feels skatey and loose. Too large and it feels stiff and hard to pivot. Matching fin size to your weight is the single biggest performance gain most people leave on the table.
Most fin brands publish a weight guide, and our team can help you choose between high-performance templates for carving fast lines and all-round templates that work better across average everyday surf.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Thruster Fins
What is a thruster fin setup?
Three equal fins, two front side fins and one centre rear fin. It's the most widely used configuration in surfing, balancing drive, hold and manoeuvrability across all conditions.
What size thruster fins do I need?
Primarily based on your weight. Most brands publish a weight-to-size guide. Small for lighter surfers, medium for average builds, large for heavier surfers. If you're rattled by all the options, ask us. We love talkin’ fins.
What's the difference between a thruster and a quad?
A thruster gives balanced drive, pivot and hold across most conditions. A quad generates more speed in fast, hollow waves but with less pivot. Thrusters are the all-round everyday choice.
Do all thruster fins fit all boards?
No. Your fins must match your board's fin system, either FCS II, Futures or original FCS. Futures and FCS aren't interchangeable.
Which is better, FCS II or Futures thruster fins?
Neither is objectively better. FCS II uses a tool-less click-in system. Futures uses a single-bolt system many surfers feel gives a more direct connection. Match whatever system is already in your board.
