Soft forward rail to a tucked edge between your feet and hard rail in the tail

All round rocker with a flatter tail

 Suited to waves 2 - 9 ft

Width and volume distribution give the MOE good paddle power without sacrificing maneuverability

From the shapers - Harley Ingleby and Billy Tolhurst:

“When I started out designing the MOE mid-length range I wanted to have an easy ride and good paddling, while keeping good stability and support.

The bottom is pretty flat with a double concave between your feet, a really good combination for carving turns in a wide board. Rails are not too thick, for sensitivity, and they transition from neutral round forward through round tucked edge to the fin area and low hard behind the fins. The rails are foiled from forward of center toward the tail, for drive through turns and good travel around white water sections. The rocker is pretty even like the HIHP and a 5fin FCS II setup makes this a great fun board / one quiver board for traveling in fun wave areas.”

The Moe is a mid-length that caters equally to beginners, experienced shortboarders looking for a bit more volume on slow days, and experienced longboarders who feel like riding something a bit shorter.

Thin rails that transition from rounded up front to a hard, tucked-under edge through the tail keep the board sensitive and provide control. With a large sweet spot and a variety of fin options available, this is a wide-spectrum, high-performance, user-friendly board that works for all skill levels, and helps bring the fun back to everyday sessions. It really excels in weaker waves.

RECOMMENDED FINS

CONSTRUCTION: Thunderbolt Red Technology

Due to the flex and speed generating qualities of the thunderbolt red construction, these boards are best suited to everyday surf conditions as they will make the most of waist to head height surf. Thunderbolt Red surfboards are hand crafter for a classic feel with enhanced response. Starting off with an EPS foam blank, a high-density foam block is installed into the blank to provide a secure anchor point for the fin box. AVT flex control components are laminated to the bottom in an A shape, then a tapered groove is cut into the deck for the AVT stringer in a T shape, which is laminated onto the deck and pressed into the groove at specific depths.

AVT flex control components are laminated to the deck, in a V shape. This combination AVT shape defines the flex, responsiveness and feel of the board creating a waistline component which creates a pivot point for tail flex, and stores the energy generated by natural flexing and twisting forces generated during a turn, which then releases through the board and fin launching the board forward. Hand laminated fiberglass layer and PVC shell lock AVT flex control components in, then is cured in a mould for precise rocker and shape. Thunderbolt red blanks are then laminated in fibreglass giving them more flex than the black construction.

Designed in Japan, for the world.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Tolhurst was founded by surfboard shaper Billy Tolhurst from Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. Tolhurst has been shaping surfboards since 1965 when he was 12. Tolhurst became a big name in the 1990's, with Tolhurst becoming a master craftsman.
Harley Ingleby was also born in Coffs Harbour and started surfing as soon as he could walk. Tolhurst started collaborating with multiple world champion Harley Ingleby since Ingleby was a child. Tolhurst build him both long and shortboards to support his varied approach to surfing. As Harley's reputation grew, they decided to work together on the brand to produce a line of performance longboards designed by both men.
Today, the Harley Ingleby series by Billy Tolhurst is one of the most cutting-edge collections of modern longboards on the market, further bolstered by the adoption of the space-age Thunderbolt Technology innovated by Japan’s Yu Sumitomo.
