The Micro has a round nose, pointed round tail combination outline and is flat rockered with a touch of extra tail lift. The bottom configuration is a single concave up front into a double concave Vee with a thruster fin set up. The fuller outline and flat rocker makes catching waves easy and the “Micro” is like a flying sled that fire up in just about all conditions.
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a strong closed call foam that is lighter and more buoyant than traditional PU foam. The Advantage of increased buoyancy is added paddling speed and improved manoeuvrability. Epoxy Resin is a healthier alternative to polyester resin as epoxy emits 50-70% fewer VOCs, which means a decrease in harmful chemicals released into the environment. With a little optical highlighter added to the resin XF boards stay whiter! Carbon Fibre placed along the centre of the deck of the deck acts in a similar way to a leaf spring providing storage of potential energy during bottom turns with a progressive release resulting in a smooth transition during top turns.

ABOUT DVS SURFBOARDS
Dick Van Straalen is one of the most innovative and creative shapers in Australia. A fine surfer, he started shaping his own boards as a teenager and learn his art on the Northern beaches in Sydney in the 1960’s. It was when he moved to Burleigh Heads and started shaping under his own label in the 70’s that he really blossomed. The hollow sand bottom point breaks on the Gold Coast and his shapes were a perfect match, and his down railed, pintails pioneered riding way back inside the tube at Burleigh and Kirra.
