ABOUT THE BRAND
NSP was established in 2001 by Bruce 'Buzz' Hansen. During development Buzz named the project 'New Surf Project, this name stuck which is how 'NSP' was created. As they changed and evolved, so did the name. Today, NSP stands for 'Nature', 'Surfing' and 'Products' because that is what the company is all about.
NSP's goal of producing affordable, versatile, durable and great performing surfboards has remained the core value almost 20 years of production. Buzz wanted to create a market for everday surfers who needed an affordable board that didn't require custom or specialised competition or extreme surfboards. With the help of Buzz's friends, they created a new epoxy technology that would go on to revolutionise the industry and recreational surfing.
NSP began selling in Hawaii and Australia in 2002 with immediate success, making surfing more accessible for everyone. Choosing repurposed, recycled or renewable resources wherever possible, creating a more sustainable future. Their mission is seeing people of all ages and skill enjoying the waves with a board that is durable enough to ride in the back of a pick-up-truck and be left in the sun all day without damage, and of course, that perfoms well.
